The “Pride in the Randolph County School System (RCSS)” program honors employees who consistently demonstrate pride in the school system and exemplify strong character and commitment in their everyday work. While the program primarily highlights smaller, often unnoticed acts of dedication, it also recognizes exceptional efforts tied to larger events when appropriate. Employees chosen for this recognition are awarded a “Pride in the Randolph County School System” lapel pin. Recipients are selected by members of the RCSS Leadership Team, school principals, or Board of Education members. The following pages list the “Pride in RCSS” pin recipients from May 1, 2024, through April 30, 2025. We extend our sincere thanks to these outstanding employees for their dedication to the Randolph County School System.

Dear Families, We’re excited to announce our EOG Spirit Week coming up May 19th–May 23rd, themed “Surf’s Up for Success!” It’s a fun and encouraging way to help students get energized and feel supported as they prepare for End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments. 🌙 Monday, May 19 – Pajama Day “Rest Up to Test Up” – Come cozy and ready to relax in your school-appropriate pajamas! 🏈 Tuesday, May 20 – Team Jersey Day “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” – Show your team spirit by wearing your favorite team jersey or shirt. 👷 Wednesday, May 21 – Career Day “Catch the Career Wave” – Dress up as the future career you dream of! 🌺 Thursday, May 22 – Hawaiian/Luau Day “Aloha Day” – Bring the tropical vibes in leis, grass skirts, or luau-themed outfits. 🌈 Friday, May 23 – Rainbow Wave Day Let’s color the school with a rainbow of learning! Each grade will wear their assigned color: Kindergarten – Purple 1st Grade – Red 2nd Grade – Yellow 3rd Grade – Orange 4th Grade – Blue 5th Grade – Green 💡 Tips to Help Your Child Succeed on the EOGs: 1. Encourage a Positive Mindset: Remind your child that these tests are a chance to show what they’ve learned—not something to fear. 2. Prioritize Rest: Ensure your child gets 8–10 hours of sleep each night, especially the night before testing. 3. Fuel Up with a Good Breakfast: A healthy breakfast can help students stay focused and energized. 4. Arrive on Time: Being on time helps reduce stress and gives your child a calm start to their testing day. 5. Review Test Strategies: Encourage them to read directions carefully, check their work, and take their time. 6. Stay Encouraging: A kind note in their backpack or a high-five in the morning goes a long way in boosting confidence. Let’s work together to support our amazing students during this important time. We can’t wait to celebrate their hard work and cheer them on all week long!
